Announcements 4 02 25We are currently studying Genesis and Matthew
On 3/17 Our Annual Spring Fast began. (It ends on 4/18).
Please, everyone , send in at least one (preferably many) prayer request. This is one time of year — the special time of fasting and praying for one another– that can be even more powerful if we are all participating, an agreement prayer for one another, and walking in unquestioned unity.
If your child cannot write yet and does understand talking to the Lord, write one on their behalf. Otherwise, have them do it themselves.
If you have not yet sent the whole group an email concerning your prayer needs (and the prayers on your heart for others), please send that email and bring your slips for the prayer bowl. Please, if not by tonight, have this in by Sabbath!
And, if you stretch a bit more, perhaps during this time you and your household could spend some time praying together for these requests several times a week during this season of special prayer and fasting for our River of Life family.
You may continue to send requests to all of us up until before church on 4/16 (even if you have already sent requests in). Get your last request to be put in the prayer bowl during this fast sent to us all through email and into the 4/ 16 prayer bowl; after that, we will continue to pray for requests already in the bowl until those requests have all been prayed for. You are free to email more requests up until 4/18. After that, resume the “prayer guard” notice ( i.e., put that on the subject line of your emails) for any requests you wish for us to pray about.
If you cannot present your request in a typing, if your handwriting is legible, please write your requests out by hand.
“Cutting” instructions: If your list is short, there is no need to make separate slips if your paper has only a few sentences on it. If your list is long, cut out slips of paper with just a few requests on them rather than put one long page of requests altogether in the bowl. (It is awkward for one person to be expected to read aloud and pray for an entire page of prayer requests.) Make sure the name of whoever is being prayed for is on each separate slip of paper.
4/2 : Pastor Cliff Baker is teaching. River Comfort practice after service in the office.
Passover: The general theme: “When I see the Blood, I will Pass Over You.” That theme can remind us of all the shed blood of Jesus did for us. If you get inspired by something else you want to share ( something that harmonizes with the first Passover and its fulfillment in Christ), do so.
Please begin to plan what you could do to add to the celebration on 4/19 as soon as April arrives. We are not seeking to be “professional performers” when we give a song, dance, poem, etc., to the Lord . On the one hand we do not want whatever you present to be so poorly put together that we feel sorry for you; on the other hand we do not want you to think you have to be “perfect” . We would love for many of you to share who do not ordinarily venture out to do so! The Lord says He adds talents to those who use their talents.
Be creative about what you might do to bless others as we meditate on Jesus being our Passover Lamb.
4/9 : Deacon Richard Menninga teaches. River Comfort practice after service on the platform
4/10: Work from the ROLLWMS cycle starting 2/23 and ending 3/29 is due. (Daniel and Revelation)
4/16: Clean up night after the offering time. River Comfort practice on the platform
4/18: The Fast ends.
4/19: We celebrate the Passover – visitors and friends are welcome to join us (actually, you are always welcome

).
Our custom in these special celebrations is to have Word ministered by many in open pulpit in the first service (ROLLWMS will be expected to participate in that). The second service will include whatever Word we did not have time to share in the first service as well as time for talent presentations (e.g., poems, skits, dances, music, etc.).
We will have a continental breakfast at 10:30 AM and a potblessing after the second service.
4/26: Children’s Church Staff meeting: After the second service Rosemary is conducting a Children’s Church Staff meeting for teachers and helpers. Please mark that date. A lunch will be served — the meeting will be held at our home.
Advanced notice: Robert and Rosemary will be in Florida with EG from May 11 to May 20. Robert is flying round trip so he will only be gone from 5/11 to 5/20. I am driving so in addition to dates Robert and I will both be absent, I will be absent for sure on 5/7 and 5/21 and am unsure if there will be more days of absence. Cliff Baker will be in charge while we are both gone, Karen Cook will be in charge of all the prayer times while we are both gone, and Karen Vander Vliet will handle all administrative jobs. (Cliff has verified his availability. Karen and Karen, please tell me if you will not be around during that period of time.)
5/31: LIGHT FORCE RESUMES AT 7:30 pm downtown

* As always I need to alert you to the possibility that events may get disrupted by unforeseen happenings so be aware that things can get rearranged sometimes.
* Key Card Books: We have some Key card books left. If you want one, tell Karen Vander Vliet. The cost is 30.00-15.00 of this will be counted as an offering from you.
* We have a rotation for prayer leaders for Sabbath at 9:30 AM and Wednesday at 6:30 PM: Robert, Annie, Rebecca, Rosemary, Edie, Dylan, Karen C, Hannah, and Cliff.
* Start of service prayer leaders and Wednesday night speakers: Hannah is overseeing the prayer rotation schedule; let her know when you cannot take your turn.
Hannah.Menninga@gmail.com* Wednesday night service speakers: Pastor Cliff Baker schedules the Wednesday night speakers. Recently he sent out a notice to the speakers to state when they can speak. Let Cliff ,
cliffanniebaker@comcast.net , know if you cannot keep a scheduled speaking time, he will make sure someone speaks for the time you cannot do it (do not work it out for yourself . IF it is a right up to the “last minute” situation , i.e., the day of your scheduled time) , let me, Rosemary , because I am always willing to fill in for people).
* The speakers are Cliff and Annie Baker, Karen Roark, Karen Cook, Karen Vander Vliet, and Hannah Schneider. Richard Menninga is a backup speaker.
* To the speakers: In the rare event that Robert and I make another plan for a Wednesday night that you have been scheduled for , then you can preach your sermon another time – Cliff (or I) will work that out with you .
* Senior singles: This group, singles aged fifty-five on up, unless announced otherwise, meets in the fellowship hall on the first Sabbath every month after the second service. They are a social group.
I welcome any input concerning something I, Rosemary, forgot to include in these announcements or alerting me to something I included that contained debatable details. Send your notes to me at
